Frogger Walkthrough
Frogger is a classic arcade game that was developed by Konami. It was published and distributed by Sega/Gremlin and released in arcades in 1981. It was one of the first arcade games to use more than one processor (two Zilog Z80 8-bit processors were used in Frogger machines). Frogger was ported to numerous systems including the Atari 2600, the Sega Genesis, SNES, numerous mobile phones, TI series graphing calculators, along with numerous copies for on Web. This Flash version of Frogger remains loyal to the gameplay of the original but features improved graphics.
The objective of Frogger is to get a frog in each of the holes on the other side of the river. In order to do this, you will have to cross a busy highway, then make it across a river filled with hazards. Only one frog can fit into each hole. When all each of the five lily pads becomes inhabited by a frog, the game will progress to the next level.
There are a whopping nine ways to die in this Flash version of Frogger, just like in the classic game. Doing one of the following will cost you a life: being hit by a vehicle, jumping into the water, running into hostile animals in the river, jumping onto a lily pad inhabited by a crocodile, staying on top of a turtle as it dives, drifting off of the screen on a log or turtle, jumping into a hole already occupied by a frog, jumping into the side of a hole, or running out of time. You are given three lives in this game. Once all lives are lost,t he game is over.
Frogger is a fine example of how classic games could be simple, but still brutally challenging. This Flash version of Frogger does the original arcade game justice and is excellent for a quick nostalgia break. Go play in traffic (not literally of course); play a game of Frogger!
