Q*bert Walkthrough
Q*bert is an arcade game that was developed and published by Gottlieb, a company that was mainly known for producing pinball machines. It was released in arcades in 1982. This classic game goes down in history as Gottlieb's only major commercial video game success. Q*bert was one of the most merchandised arcade games of all time and spawned apparel, toys, and even a cartoon series. The game is also referenced in segments of Robot Chicken, Family Guy, the Simpsons, and other shows. The Flash version of Q*bert captures the essence of the classic arcade game while featuring smoother graphics and different sound effects.
The objective of Q*bert is to color all of the cubes on the pyramid by jumping onto them. When all cubes have been colored the target color, the game advances to the next stage. Jumping off of the pyramid or colliding with an enemy costs one life. When all lives are lost, the game is over. This Flash version of the arcade game gives you three lives and no continues. Extra lives are awarded at eight thousand points and after each additional fourteen thousand points.
This Flash version of Q*bert uses keyboard controls that do a great job of emulating those of the classic game. Simply use the arrow keys to jump from cube to cube. Remember that you can only jump diagonally. The isometric graphics of this arcade game may take some getting used to, but keep practicing and you'll eventually get the hang of it.
This Flash version of Q*bert stays true to the original mechanics of the classic arcade game and is just as challenging as the original. If you would like to play a modern version of Q*bert that improves the game's assets, but does not take away from or modify the gameplay beyond recognition, then this Flash version of the classic game is perfect for you!
